How to Use the Time Calculator
- Pick an operation: add, subtract, multiply, or divide time, or measure the duration between two dates and times.
- Enter your time values and choose the unit for each (seconds, minutes, hours, days, or weeks). The result updates instantly.
- For durations, set a start and end date and time — including the hour and minute — to get the exact gap.
What Is a Time Calculator?
A time calculator performs arithmetic on durations: it adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides amounts of time the same way a normal calculator handles numbers, but using the 60-seconds-in-a-minute and 24-hours-in-a-day system.
It is handy for scheduling, estimating how long tasks take, splitting a total time into equal parts, or measuring the exact span between two moments — down to the minute.
How Time Math Works
Time is counted in base 60 for seconds and minutes and base 24 for hours. The calculator converts every value to seconds, does the math, and converts the result back into a readable days/hours/minutes/seconds format.
Multiplication and division scale the total seconds by the factor you enter, then regroup the result into larger units automatically.
Durations between dates use the real calendar, so different month lengths and leap days are handled correctly.
